Our Writing Assessment service gives homeschool parents the opportunity to submit their student's writing for evaluation by one of our experienced writing instructors. Whether your child is just beginning to write paragraphs or is preparing for college essays, personalized feedback can provide valuable insight into their current writing ability.
Each student writing assessment evaluates four essential components of effective academic writing:
Organization – Is the writing logically structured and easy to follow?
Content – Are the ideas thoughtful, relevant, and well developed?
Style – Does the writing demonstrate clarity, sentence variety, and effective word choice?
Grammar – Are grammar, punctuation, and mechanics used accurately?
After reviewing your student's work, we provide a detailed written evaluation identifying age-appropriate strengths and areas for growth. Our goal is to help parents better understand their child's current writing skills and how they can best support their child. This service is designed as a consultation with the parent or instructor rather than tutoring for the student. In addition to the written evaluation, you'll have the opportunity to meet with one of our experienced instructors to discuss the assessment, ask questions, and receive practical recommendations for ongoing instruction.
What Can Students Submit?
We offer writing assessments for a variety of grade levels and writing assignments:
Elementary students may submit two single-paragraph compositions.
Middle and high school students may submit one multi-paragraph essay.
We also evaluate college application essays and college research papers.
